It takes 5-6 weeks from seed to maturity. Most folks start them indoors and plant them outside after danger of frost.

Wild bunny eating all my marigold?
Bullets.
Reply:There is something called Deer Scram that also works with rabbits too. All you have to do is spread it around and it will keep them away. It is $30 and comes in a large tub.
Reply:No need to spray, just buy some "moth balls" and put them on the ground by your marigolds, as rabbits dont like the smell, and will stay away, as will other animals.
Reply:The only way to stop rabbits from eating your plants is to put up a barrier eg. wire that they cannot fit through or climb over or under.
Reply:Try getting them away, but from the first poster,NOT KILLING THEM.Maybe, put something on the marigolds to make it tast bad?

Which end of the marigold seed do you plant down ?

someone told me that the black end of the seed is to be up with the fibre end down. !!

Which end of the marigold seed do you plant down ?
Don't worry, just drop them flat or however they fall. I've always grown them and that is fine. It would take forever to plant the seeds up and down and you definitely don't need to! There isn't a wrong way. I just scatter them down the furrow and thin them when they come up if needed. They are great, easy flowers to grow.
Reply:Just lay the seed on the soil surface
Reply:It does not matter I have just started planting my seeds left from last year, the only thing I do is put them in a pot a sprinkle a layer of dirt on them they pretty much do everything else them selves.Very easy plant to start and you will be rewarded with new seeds in the fall.
Reply:It won't matter. Plant it either way. Most people simply scatter the seeds, and then scatter a little soil thinly on top, pat gently, and wait.

My marigolds self-seed. The only thing I do to "help them out" is, inthe fall, when the plants have died and they are skeletons of their former selves, with dried seeds pods held up in the air, I trample the plants, and walk back and forth over them to break them up and help release the seeds out of the poods and get them scattered around.

Then late next srping, they come shooting up. I'll trnasplnat some of them, thin some, leave some to grow where they sprouted.
Reply:Sow seeds directly into the garden bed after all danger of spring frost is past. Dig down into the soil about 8 or 10 inches with a trowel or shovel and turn it over to loosen and aerate it. If the soil is thin mix in some organic matter such as peat moss, compost or chopped leaves to improve its drainage and ability to hold moisture. Break up any large soil clumps, then smooth and level the area. Sprinkle seeds on the soil as recommended on the seed packet label and cover with a thin layer of soil. Keep soil moist.

When sprouts are a few inches tall, thin them by pulling up the weaker, overcrowded ones, to allow space for the remaining ones to grow.

Someone gave me a few young Marigold plants and they are now a foot high with no flowers. What's wrong?

PROBABLY NOTHING FOR NOW. SOME ARE VERY SHORT AND THERE ARE MANY VARIETIES THAT GET VERY TALL. IF THEY START GETTING WEIRD LOOKING THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE LOST THEIR HYBRID AND WON'T DO ANYTHING. AND FERTILIZER WON'T MAKE ANYTHING BLOOM, IT WILL JUST GROW. MARIGOLDS WILL GROW IN ANYTHING, TOO. GIVE THEM A LITTLE TIME. SAVE THE SEEDS IF THEY DO BLOOM AND PLANT THEM NEXT YEAR... GOOD LUCK...

THANKS FOR THE POINTS! Report It

Reply:nothing just water an wate
Reply:You could try fertilizer, try a name brand like Miracle grow. Follow directions on the back to a T. Usually the liquid kind is the best and water at the same time. If that does not work try a premium soil, which usually has perlite or vermiculite in it or Container soil or annual soil. Just watch out for Miracle grow soil. It already has fertilizer in it. To much of a good thing is actually bad.

Marigold household rubber gloves can they be taken off insied out if so how?

women do you take your rubber gloves off inside out how do you do take them off inside out?

Marigold household rubber gloves can they be taken off insied out if so how?
Take them off as a normal glove and turn inside out and then simply blow inside the glove until all the fingers are inflated and hey presto! an inside out rubber glove.
Reply:take them off slowly and leave them inside out
Reply:pull em off insideout just like you would your Tshirt
Reply:Well if your hands are nice and sweaty from wearing the gloves it would be easy. Put the wrist part between your teeth and pull them off slowly. This should make them come off inside out.;)
Reply:well these people who say put it in your teeth are crazy. You wear rubber gloves because you have been working with something that can't get on your skin, like oven cleaner or something. Why would you put that in your mouth? I don't take mine off inside out. I use the gloved hand to take one off, then before I pull my hand all the way out of it, I use it to pull the other one off then I let them fall in the sink where I rinse them off, or in the garbage, depending on how dirty they are. That way bare fingers don't touch the corrosives or whatever it was I was working with.
Reply:SPRINKLE BABY POWDER INSIDE OF YOUR GLOVES BEFORE YOU PUT THEM ON NEXT TIME THEN THEY WILL SLIDE OFF EASILY.

PULL THE TOP OF THE GLOVE OVER YOUR FINGERS AND WALLA! THEY ARE OFF!!
Reply:just pull downwards from the wrist,
Reply:You ask far too many questions about rubber gloves!!!!
Reply:Peel off from the wrist back and this will make them inside out!
Reply:you start at the wrist and pull the glove off with the other hand to half way, so the wrist band of the pulled glove is over the gloved thumb area, then repeat the same process with the other hand, but pull the glove off all the way. Now use your bare hand to grab the inside part of the first glove and pull it off the rest of the way. Normally, you turn gloves this way when you used the glove for something that should be throwing in the garbage after.
