Marigolds are flowers!
-Vanessa
Can you please tell me any information on Marigolds?
Calendula (pot marigold) is a genus of about 12-20 species of annual or perennial herbaceous plants in the daisy family Asteraceae, native to the area from Macaronesia east through the Mediterranean region to Iran. For other plants also named 'marigold', see marigold. It is also the flower of the month October.

Reply:Marigolds will come back in some zones, but not all. Here in Maine we use them as an annual. They're smallish and come in red or yellow. We buy them in pots to get a head start and then when they die in fall, that's it. I like the way they smell, and I love the seed head, it's shaped like a star! If you snip off faded blooms, the plants will bloom more. I would think that if you type it into a search engine you'll see lots of links.

Reply:Marigold plants are from Central America. They were introduced to South Asia in the 16th century and have become important in everyday life. They are used in ceremonies, as offerings and for decoration all over the sub-continent.

Reply:Marigolds are one of the easiest flowers to grow. They come in a variety of colors. They can survive real good in the hot sun and then they will come back after the winter is over. they really are beautiful. I am sorry that I dont know of a link for you, but if cant find a link then go to the library. I am sure they would have a book that could help you.
Reply:Marigolds are easy to grow, however, I do not like the fragrance that they have. Where I live Marigolds are an annual--meaning you have to replant them annually. One tip, rabbits do not like them so some people may line their gardens with them to try to keep the rabbits from eating the other flowers that they may plant.
Reply:You can put them in a herb garden to keep certain pest away.
