I've got some tomato plants, cucumber plants, morning glory's, marigolds, and a few strawberry sprouts that are outside right now. Should I bring them in or will they be fine outside tonight?
It's supposed to get down to 47 tonight. Should I bring in my veggies?
Next time you're worried, floating row covers are excellent for frost prevention and pest control.
I see alot of people here saying 32F is when you worry, actually air temp needs to get to 26F for there to be a ground frost. Again, floating row cover will prevent frost from damaging your plants, as long as day temps are regularly getting over 50F
Reply:unless you expect early morning frost then i wouldn't worry too much
Reply:No. They will do just fine out there tonight.
Reply:they will be fine...you are lucky... it was 20 degrees when i got up...cant wait to get my garden going...still patches of snow on the ground...
Reply:32 degrees is freezing and that temp will kill tender plants, too. There should be no problem leaving them outside if the low is going to be 47. Spare them from high winds as well as freezing temps. Good gardening to you.
Reply:You only have to worry if the temperature is going to get down to 32f. That's when they will be harmed.
