Marigolds and repelling aphids?

Reply:You could always try releasing some ladybugs. They eat aphids. You can get them at Armstrong Gardens.
Reply:No. In fact, sometimes aphids will attack marigolds, too. Aphids generally leave them alone, in fact are repelled by them (I have Queen Sophia and Marvelous Orange varieties). I have had good luck, myself, but you might consider planting garlic (pointy bit of the clove upward) about an inch down near whatever you've got your aphids in (roses, perhaps?).
Reply:All marigolds have strong smelling leaves and should help repell aphids and other insects.
